Horse Listening 101 : A journey into the world of the horse and their teachings. This immersion is for those who would love to learn more about the world of the horse and what horses are teaching you about yourself! This is offered to those who love horses, horse educators, trainers, equine therapists, and those who want to get closer to their own horse. This will not only be a deep dive into the world of the horse, but also into your own heart, and what the horse is reflecting and teaching you about your own heart. Like all of my offerings, you get what you put into it! Come with questions and explorations, and these will be engaged as well as 1:1 exercises will be offered for you to bring into your world of horses on your own to reflect within. Week 1: The World of the Horse: Communication How horses communicate. Herd dynamics. Boundaries. Safety. Horses Present Moment Awareness and its teachings. How horses perceive the world Body Language and Body Awareness How you communicate to your horse-what are you communicating to the horse Week 2: Horses' invitation into Leadership Herd Dynamics and how horses lead Authentic Embodiment and how horses respond to this-what does it mean-how do you do it? Confident Leadership-You can't Fake it! Your relationship to authority/power dynamics/the horses' power Week 3: Energy Awareness/Body Language What is energy and how does this translate to horses How horses pick up on your energy/emotions How horses mirror energy/emotions What can we do about it? Being aware what you bring to the arena and why! Week 4: The Dance of Partnership & Medicine Horse Wisdom How to partner with your horse/horses Medicine Horse Wisdom and the gifts horses bring to us Connection based on mutual trust and leadership Safety in Trust and Connection All our work together is based on the teachings of the horse and what this reflects within you. All my work with you and horses is predicated on the recognition that horses are instinctual beings, who are lead by their instinct-and thus safety, understanding of herd dynamics, and how to set boundaries with horses in safety-are foundational to working with them. My walk with horses....
I have worked with horses of all shapes and sizes starting at the ripe age of 12 being hired at my barn to work with the misfits-the misunderstood horses, my favorites. It has been a big part of my path, my healing journey, and my own embodiment. I spent a lot of time laying in fields and watching horses in their natural environment with their friends to understand how to relate to them within our dynamic. I have been identified as a 'horse whisperer' although I call it a horse listener. I admittedly have been a bit in the closet about such a term, as I do not feel we whisper to horses..in fact, they really are whispering to us..and the medicine is in listening. I am humble to their teachings and forever a student. I also work in a therapeutic capacity with my own offering Medicine Horse Journeys which I developed in 2005 after my trainer in Equine Inspired Coaching guided me to create my own method because of the depth of knowledge and awareness I have with horses. My work with horses is about what they are teaching us. It's not about doing healing work or coaching beside them. It's about what they are showing us about ourselves. This is what I will be offering in my teaching as well as my book I am writing at present as well as in the creation of my training program for equine enthusiasts, therapists, and guides to help you better understand the voice of the horse and what they are showing us about ourselves! My passion is being a voice for the horse and this offering is just that. |
