Herd & Heal
An Immersion in Horse Wisdom, Herd and Heart Teachings &
the Intelligence of Nature
October 17 & 18, 2026
Sage & Temecula, California
Two days. Two herds. One invitation:
To slow down.
To listen.
To remember.
Hosted by Paradise Dreams Animal Sanctuary stewarded by Eloise Christopher.
Join Michelle Peterson and the horses of Paradise Dreams Animal Sanctuary for a deeply immersive experience exploring the wisdom of the body, the intelligence of the nervous system, and the healing that becomes possible when we return to authentic relationship - with ourselves, with nature, and with one another.
Working with two distinct rescue herds from Paradise Dreams Animal Sanctuary, including a mustang herd in Sage, California, we’ll explore the ways horses help us reconnect with instinct, presence, trust, intuition, and the parts of ourselves that often get buried beneath the noise of modern life.
The horses invite us into a different way of being.
A slower way.
A more honest way.
A way rooted in relationship rather than performance.
Through guided experiences, observation, somatic practices, and time in the herd, participants will have the opportunity to experience the profound wisdom horses offer when we learn to meet them—and ourselves - with curiosity, presence, and respect.
This is not about fixing yourself.
It is not about becoming someone new.
It is an invitation to remember who you were before the world taught you to forget.
October 17, 2026
Sage, California
Spend the day with the sanctuary’s mustang herd, exploring freedom, instinct, resilience, and the wisdom carried within the social intelligence of the herd.
Mustangs have much to teach us about belonging, leadership, adaptability, boundaries, and the balance between independence and connection.
October 18, 2026
Temecula, California
Join us with a second Paradise Dreams rescue herd as we deepen our exploration of nervous system regulation, embodied presence, trust, connection, and healing through relationship.
Each herd offers its own unique gifts and perspectives, creating a rich opportunity to learn from the diverse ways horses navigate life, community, and connection.
Participants are welcome to attend either day individually or both days together.
While each day stands on its own, attending both creates a deeper and more comprehensive immersion into the wisdom of the horse.
Each day is from 9:00 - 1:00
What We’ll Explore
• Nervous system regulation and co-regulation
• Somatic awareness and embodied presence
• The wisdom of instinct and intuition
• Boundaries, trust, and authentic connection
• The healing power of nature and relationship
• What horses reveal that words often cannot
• Returning to the intelligence of the body
• Reconnecting with your own inner knowing
• Finding greater clarity, confidence, and self-trust
No horse experience is necessary.
This experience is open to horse lovers, healers, helpers, professionals, seekers, and anyone longing for a deeper connection with themselves and the living world around them.

About Michelle Peterson
Michelle Peterson is the founder of Medicine Horse Healing and has spent more than twenty-five years helping horses and humans better understand one another.

Recently featured in the award-winning documentary Dance of the Wild, Michelle’s work is rooted in a simple belief:
Healing happens in relationship.
And horses, perhaps more than any other teacher, remind us how.
“First you go with the horse. Then the horse goes with you. Then you go together.”
